22 Oct 2011Now that missing my flight and enduring a full sleepless day at the airport has been added to my list of accomplished things in life, I want to ponder on my life so far and the so-called ”crazy” things I’ve done. Here’s my personal list:
1- Ripping my Bart Simpson’s all time favorite t-shirt through our apartment’s window while trying to enter back home in the unknown at 8 years old.
2- Escaping away from my elementary school during supervised school yard lunch time, getting caught by the school director, making my teacher cry and getting detention for a week when I was 11.
3- Building a tree house with kids from the block and falling off 3 meters down, hence my fear of heights since then.
4- Going to clubs at 16 and coming back at 3AM by walking hours and hours home from downtown, in high heels.
5- Smoking extra light mint cigarettes with korean international student friends for 3 months.
6- Office more than making out with a handsome security guard during a business tower cleaning summer school job at 20.
7- Taking 3 tequila shots at my 25th birthday and waking up to an unknown place for the first and last time in my life.
8- Going taverns in Khayelitsha, a township within one of the most high crimed with homicides countries in the world, South Africa.
9- Fleeing again dangerously, but in South Africa, to meet up secretly with a handsome man who became my fiancé.
10- Sleeping in the street on my own like a homeless for the charity ”5 days for the Homeless” when I was 26.
11- Missing a flight and ending up wasting a full day stuck at the airport!
