5 Jul 2010I’ve been trying to keep my smile up no matter how unfortunate circumstances and worries seem to just add up lately…and it’s funny because i’m usually very happy and smily all the time and I know that because I usually get asked: “Hmm!? Why are you smiling!?!! What are you smiling about?!”
Yep, we all do that sometimes…put on a plastic face to be able to go through work and all other stuff…when, you’d rather be somewhere else, way far from where you are…even in another continent.
Anyway, I was just wondering, how do YOU get over periods of blues? What do you tell yourself?
As for me, having travelled to different continents, I can easily recall the extreme poverty i’ve seen and witnessed, so I tell myself that I’m a very fortunate person although I don’t have a car, an apartment and other stuff we all look for…but really, I don’t mind those things, I just want to make my parents happy and be able to pay their house loan so they don’t loose the house when they retire.
Also, through my work as a community counsellor in underprivileged communities, I can see that happiness emanates from within. If you listen to world music, you can hear and feel the happiest music in the world from parts of the world that are still unmodernized but have kept true of their human values and appreciation of the simplest things.
When i’m really deep, before I sleep, I pray to the Universe and to some force to grant me some wishes in meeting the right people and giving me the energy to keep dreaming for my people. I’ll light up some small candles and recite a prayer linked to the power of positive minding.
I’ll tell myself that I must enjoy, live and act in the present moment, as much as possible…
And I will do that until things settle down…after all, troubles don’t last always…
Je réside à Montréal et je vais partager avec vous sur différents sujets tels que ma ville, l'entreprenariat social, mes voyages et expériences en Afrique du Sud et bref, ce qui se passe dans la société et le village global dans lequel nous vivons tous. Bonne visite!
